Stacey Dash, 'Clueless' Actress, Weighs Congressional Bid

Dash was an outspoken supporter of then-candidate Donald Trump and was previously a contributor at Fox News.

Stacey Dash, an actress best known for playing Dionne in the hit 1995 movie "Clueless," is mulling a run for Congress. Dash asked her Twitter followers on Friday to voice their opinions on whether she should seek political office.

"A number of people online and off have suggested I run for political office," she said in a tweet. "I wanted to see what my online community thinks of this idea as I mull the possibilities. Thoughts?"

Her tweet was joined by a graphic that said "paid for by the D2DC 'Testing the Waters' Committee."

On Saturday morning, she again tweeted to her followers, saying she was officially considering a congressional bid. The outspoken conservative would likely run in California.

"In response to numerous calls for me to run for office, I am considering a run for Congress," she tweeted. "Would love to know what my fans and friends think."

One user flagged responded that she did a nude photo shoot for Playboy at age 40, but Dash rebutted the argument, saying she first consulted with her children and that they had given her their blessing.

"They told me 'go for it mom.' If they didn’t have an issue with it, neither should anyone else. #NoShame," she tweeted.

Dash says everything about her is already public and there's nothing new anyone can hurl at her.

Dash, an outspoken supporter of then-candidate Donald Trump, was previously a contributor at Fox News. The network declined to renew her contract last fall.
