Strong Nevada Earthquake Felt In California
The earthquake was reported just after 4 a.m. Did YOU feel it?
CALIFORNIA— A magnitude 6.4 earthquake that struck Nevada early Friday morning was felt across California, according to the United States Geological Survey. The quake, which was centered near the sparsely populated town of Tonopah in Nye County, was reported at 4:03 a.m. and was followed by multiple aftershocks including a magnitude 5.1.
Thousands of residents across Nevada and California reported feeling the early morning quake, according to the USGS website. No injuries were reported as a result of the earthquake.
The historic mining town, which is located between Reno and Las Vegas, has been closed for weeks due to the coronavirus.
