205 Lose Power In Agoura Hills

AGOURA HILLS, CA — As temperatures climb into the low 80s and many Agourans were probably reaching for their air conditioning for the first time in a while, the power went out.

The power went out at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, according to Southern California Edison. Initially 905 customers were affected, but 205 customers living in the area around the intersection of Kanan Road and Thousand Oaks Boulevard are without power as of 3:45 p.m. Thursday. The outage was caused by "equipment problems," according to SCE, and crews are currently working to restore it. Power is expected to be restored by 6 p.m. Thursday.

31 customers in Hidden Hills are also without power, due to "upgrading equipment," according to SCE. Power is expected to be restored there by 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Agoura Hills is will enter a Red Flag Warning Thursday night for critical fire conditions, but unlike nearby Malibu, Chatsworth, Moorpark, Simi Valley, and Camarillo, it is not an area of consideration for an SCE Public Safety Power Shutoff. Recently, all of the above areas lost power in a Public Safety Power Shutoff, but Agoura was spared.

Still, temperatures in the 80s and Santa Ana winds of up to 20 miles per hour could result in fires.
