Feb. 15: Soup, College Prep and Mitrice Richardson

An update on Richardson's remains, an event dedicated to soup, and a Charger Club meeting make the list.

1. The Forecast: Mostly Cloudy

Say goodbye to sunshine and hello to clouds. The National Weather Service reports a 30 percent chance of showers after 10 a.m. Agoura Hills can expect a mostly cloudy Tuesday, with a high near 61 and a low around 48, with west wind around 5 miles per hour becoming south. 

2. News: Found Bones Could Be Mitrice Richardson's

Eight bones found Sunday by county sheriff's and coroner officials in a Malibu Canyon ravine could be those of , according to City News Service. The bones were found close to where Richardson's remains were discovered in August following her 11-month disappearance, and appear to be from fingers, a wrist, the neck and ribs, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore told CNS.

3. Author to Dish About Soup at Library

Devin Morgan will talk about her new cookbook, The Little Book of Soups, which features recipes for low-calorie soups. The free event will take place at the from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will include soup samples and cookbooks for purchase. Contact Grace Bernard at 818-889-2278 for more information. 

4. Free 11th Grade College Prep Workshop

All Las Virgenes Unified School District 11th grade parents and students are invited to a free seminar funded by the Las Virgenes Educational Foundation at Agoura High School from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The seminar is offered through the College Application and Acceptance Program, known as CAAP, and will cover the college admissions process, standardized tests, how to work with your student, and much more. Registration for this 11th grade workshop is limited to 120 families and is available only online. Contact co-chairs Jennifer Bercy or Sharon Boucher for questions.

5. AHS Charger Club Meeting

The Agoura High Athletic Booster Club will be meeting on campus in from 7 p.m. until around 8 p.m. Everyone is invited and any input is welcome. To ask for an item to be considered for the meeting agenda, email the Secretary at coltandcass@aol.com.
