Feb. 16: Showers, Music Clinic and a Book Talk

1. The Forecast: 100% Showers

Get ready for rain, Agoura Hills. The National Weather Service reports a high near 57, with showers mainly before 4 p.m. Southwest wind will remain between 5 and 15 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour. The evening will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. 

2. Whizins Farmers Market

If you missed the  on Sunday, there is another opportunity to buy locally grown produce in town. Swing by the  shopping center from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and check back on Wednesday for Mira Reverente's seasonal picks.

3. Free Music Clinic

Electric bass guitarist Jamie Silverstein will be holding a clinic in the Band Room on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. through Nutrition. Silverstein has played all styles of rock, gospel, and pop and teaches private lessons. 

4. Book Talk

A book talk on Mushroom Clouds and Mushroom Men: The Fantastic Cinema of Ishiro Honda by will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. in the multipurpose room of Westlake Village Library, 31220 Oak Crest Dr. For more information, call Nina Hull, community library manager, at 818-865-9230.

5. Zev Yaroslavsky Speaks on State Budget

The Los Angeles County Supervisor will lead a discussion about the impact of the state budget on local government and potential pitfalls at Cigale Cafe (704 Lindero Canyon Rd.) in Oak Park.
