But even though the results may change, both Buckley Weber and Northrup thanked Agoura residents for giving them another term.

“Agoura Hills residents are engaged, concerned and ready to move forward. I’m honored that they have given me the opportunity to continue serving them," Buckley Weber wrote Patch in an email.

"I'm happy to see that so many Agoura Hills residents came out and exercised their voting rights in this election. It was the highest turnout in a long time, if not ever," Northrup told Patch. "I am excited to have the chance to serve this wonderful community for another term. I look forward to working closely with the other members of the Council to continue to address the issues we face due to the COVID 19 pandemic, to support our local businesses and work with our school district as it develops safe plans to get our children back in school."

Buckley Weber, a two-time mayor and nine-year councilmember, ran on a record of environmental protection and fiscal prudence. She helped put a Climate Action Plan into action, and oversaw a balanced budget even in the midst of a pandemic. She has also worked to protect the city against another fire by upgrading evacuation routes and updating fire resistant standards in new construction. Learn more here.

Northrup is an Agoura High School graduate who has served on the Council since 2016, and was mayor during the Woolsey Fire. Like Buckley Weber, she has devoted a great deal of energy to helping the city recover from the fire and improve its readiness for the next one. Along with Buckley Weber, she helped create regulations to help local businesses operate outdoors during the pandemic, and sewed over 800 masks in her spare time. Learn more here.
