Agoura Hills Native Named WGCA Division III Freshman Of The Year
Agoura Hills native and WashU freshman Annie Mascot was awarded Monday one of college golf's highest honors.
AGOURA HILLS, CA — Agoura Hills native and 2019 Agoura High School graduate Annie Mascot was named Monday as the 2019-20 Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division III Freshman of the Year. Mascot, who attends Washington University in St. Louis, was the third player in the school’s history to be granted this title.
Mascot ranked first in the NCAA Division III in scoring average, and recorded rounds in the 70s or lower in all rounds played during the past year’s season. She finished in the top three in every tournament in which she played, and broke school records in a single season. Mascot was a first-team, All-America, all-region, and all-UAA selection who earned UAA Athlete of the Week honors three times.
“I’m honored to be selected as the 2020 wgca freshman of the year,” said Mascot in an acceptance video. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank my family, teammates, and coaches for helping me achieve this recognition.”
