Agoura Hills Nixes Fireworks, Hosts Movie And Decorating Contest
Instead of fireworks, the city will show "Star Wars" at Chumash Park and launch another home decorating contest.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — California is reopened, and summer celebrations are back in Agoura Hills.
On July 2, the city will host a free screening of “Star Wars: Episode IX” at Chumash Park. It is also launching a July 4 patriotic home decorating contest, similar to its 2020 celebrations.
Homes must be located in Agoura Hills, and the grand prize winner will receive a gift card to a local restaurant. Participants can email submissions to agourahillsrec@agourahillscity.org.

The city will not be hosting any fireworks celebrations “due to the many uncertainties that still exist and made it tough to plan for,” according to City Manager Nathan Hamburger.
To see fireworks, Agourans can head to nearby Calabasas High School, where the city of Calabasas is hosting a Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular.
