Agoura Road Reopens After Dead Body Found

The street closed west of Liberty Canyon Road after a dead body was found about 15 yards away. The name and cause of death are still unknown

AGOURA HILLS, CA — Agoura Road has reopened after an hours-long closure Thursday afternoon, the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station has confirmed.

The street was closed west of Liberty Canyon Road at around 11:45 a.m. Thursday after police found a dead body lying in vegetation off a roadway nearby. The Sheriff's Department was called to check the 27500 block of Agoura Road, west of Liberty Canyon Road, according to Deputy James Nagao.

"Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim lying approximately 15 yards off the roadway amongst some trees and bushes and appeared deceased," Nagao said.

Paramedics responded and pronounced the unidentified victim dead, according to Nagao. The cause of death is unknown. His name was withheld pending family notification.

A representative from the Lost Hills Station confirmed that the road has reopened, but could not say when, or if police are still investigating in the area.
