Body Found On Simi Valley Hiking Trail

Police say that a body found Monday afternoon was an elderly man who died of natural causes.

SIMI VALLEY, CA — Police and firefighters investigating reports of a body found on a hiking trail in Simi Valley Monday afternoon have determined that the man likely died of natural causes.

The incident was reported around 3 p.m. on a trail near Washburn Street and Los Amigos Avenue, close to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, according to Simi Valley Police and the Ventura County Fire Department.

A police official told the Ventura County Star that the elderly man walking his dog appears to have died of natural causes. The department is investigating the incident.
