Chabad Community Center Q&A: Rabbi Bryski
Chabad's executive director offers his insight on the development of a new Jewish center for the Conejo Valley in Agoura Hills.
Rabbi Moshe Bryski has been a part of Chabad for 27 years. He has watched the Jewish community in the area expand and is spearheading the development of its headquarters right here in Agoura Hills.
Chabad-Lubavitch is considered a philosophy, a movement, and an organization. Regarded as the "nerve center" of the Jewish community, a Chabad House offers outreach through both education and activities for young and old. Chabad of the Conejo's existing center is located at 30345 Canwood St., but a new home is in the works and is expected to be completed by March 2011.Â
The New Chabad of the Conejo Community Campus will enable the organization to increase enrollment of its Hebrew School, Hebrew High and adult education programs, and also increase the capacities at community events and Shabbat services, says Rabbi Bryski. The total cost of the project is estimated at $3.5 million. Since January 2010, Chabad has raised just over one million. They need to raise an additional two million dollars to complete the project.
