Within the City of Agoura Hills, much of the water used for irrigation is wasted due to inefficient watering methods and systems. Excess irrigation runoff poses a threat to the City’s unique natural environment and water conservation goals. As excess water runs off irrigated areas, it flows over sidewalks, down streets, into storm drains, and finds its way to local waterbodies and eventually the ocean. This runoff can pick up a host of pollutants, like trash and bacteria that can be harmful to our local waterways.
