The Drunkest Cities in California
Who's No. 1? It's in the Southland, according to a website measuring per capita drink establishments, drunk tweets and divorce rates.
Is your town slushed? Tipsy? Fall-on-its-can drunk? Well, a website claims to have narrowed down ”the 10 drunkest cities in California.”
According RoadSnacks.com, there’s a way to figure it out. At least, in theory.
The site based its findings on per capita figures for bars and pubs, wineries and liquor stores; each city’s “drunk related tweets” over the past week which included hashtags such as #drunk, #party, #cocktails, #beer and #wine; and the divorce rate because “when one or both partners in a marriage are alcoholics, that couple is three times more likely to divorce.”

Five cities representing four counties are from Southern California in the Top 10, although somewhat surprisingly, none are from the Inland Empire. Apparently, foreclosures don’t drive people to drink.
The Southern California cities who are on the 10 most drunk list (finger drumroll on the bar) are: Santa Monica at No. 1, Santa Barbara at No. 2, Pasadena at No. 4, Newport Beach at No. 6 and the San Diego suburb of El Cajon at No. 10.
