Fatal Traffic Collision Shuts Down Moorpark Road
All lanes of Moorpark Road have reopened after a driver struck and killed a pedestrian early Monday morning.

THOUSAND OAKS, CA — Northbound lanes of Moorpark Road just north of the intersection with Wilbur Road have reopened after closing down due to a fatal traffic collision.
The collision occurred at 6 a.m. Monday, when a car struck a pedestrian 20-30 feet north of the intersection of Moorpark and Wilbur roads, according to Wendell Campbell of the Thousand Oaks Police Department.
The pedestrian was immediately transferred to Los Robles Hospital, where they died, according to Campbell. No other injuries were reported.

Authorities shut down north and southbound lanes of Moorpark Road north of the Wilbur Road intersection right after the crash. Southbound lanes were reopened at around 6:45 a.m., and northbound lanes were reopened at around 10:30 a.m.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but Campbell said that authorities do not currently believe that the driver was intoxicated.
