Feb. 25: It's Girl Scout Cookie Season and Make Sure to Grab Your Umbrella!

Cold and wet weather is on the way, a free film is screening, and RSVP for the Relay Rally.

1. Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs

Feb. 25 marks opening day of Girl Scout cookie season. Troops will be setting up shop between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at on Kanan Road, the on Roadside Drive, and on Kanan Road. For a full list of cookie booth locations through Mar. 20, click here.

Don't leave the house today without your overcoat and umbrella. Rain is likely to begin after 4 p.m. with a high near 57, dropping to a low of 39, according to The National Weather Service.  The forecast calls for a 100 percent chance of rainfall this evening, heavy at times, with south southwest winds gusting up to 25 miles per hour.

3. Free Film Screening

's Wellness Committee will be hosting a free showing of an Academy Award nominated film at 6 p.m.  The film features Michael Pollan, the author of Omnivore's Dilemma, and Eric Schlosser, the author of Fast Food Nation, and takes a thought-provoking and entertaining look at food in America and our relationship to it. After the movie, Terri Nunn, the Oscar-winning singer from the band Berlin, will moderate a discussion. A $10 donation is suggested, and 100 percent of the proceeds will support programs for Mariposa students.

4. Catch the Relay Fever!

Agoura Hills Relay for Life Co-Chairs Join Erik Therwanger and Barbara Liley will be hosting a rally for the 24-hour team event to fight cancer at 1 p.m. at Agoura Fitness. Get a sneak peek of the Relay experience, learn about becoming involved as a team captain, join the Relay Committee, pick up Relay For Life materials (team captain kits, brochuresand posters), and learn about American Cancer Society programs and services. RSVP by Feb. 25 to Pam Brady at 805-217-9869 or pam.brady@cancer.org.

5. Music in Motion at Agoura Hills Library

The latest program for toddlers begins at 9 a.m. As a teacher and therapist Linnea Richards brings an understanding of child development to her musical activities for both parent and child. The event promises to be a fun,  musically rewarding and motivating class for toddlers and their parents. Space is limited and registration is required.
