Kobe Bryant, the face of the LA Lakers for two decades, has become the only player in NBA history to play 20 seasons for a single team.


Kobe Bryant made NBA history Wednesday night by becoming the only player ever to play 20 seasons with a single franchise.

His rookie teammate D’Angelo Russell was a mere infant when Bryant debuted in the league.

Bryant broke the record held by former Utah Jazz point guard John Stockton with Wednesday’s tip off in the Lakers’ season opener, a one-point loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Since his rookie season Bryant has been the face of the LA Lakers, going on to become the franchise leader in everything from most games played, all-time points, steals and win shares.

Even as rumors swirl that this could be his last season, Bryant played 29 minutes Wednesday to lead the team with 24 points.
