AGOURA HILLS, CA — Feeling lucky? Head on over to the Shell gas station on 24115 Calabasas Road, right off the 101 Freeway and next to Mercedes-Benz of Calabasas, which sold a lottery ticket with five out of six correct numbers in Tuesday evening's drawing of the multi-state Mega Millions lottery. The ticket, which is worth $309,694 according to the California State Lottery, fell just short of winning over $200 million.

Another ticket with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, was sold in New York and is worth $1 million, the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game, announced.
California law requires major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis, meaning the payoff is determined by the size of the pool instead of a fixed amount.

The numbers drawn Tuesday were 7, 16, 27, 44, 52 and the Mega number was 14. The estimated jackpot was $248 million.

There were no tickets sold with all six numbers and the estimated jackpot for Friday's drawing will grow to an estimated $266 million.

The drawing was the 26th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number are 1 in 302,575,350, according to the California Lottery. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.
