Ringo Starr, at 80, took advantage of our long shut-in COVID time to create a new album, “Zoom In,” a title wonderfully apt for our newfound way of communicating safely. The album includes luminaries such as Paul McCartney and Sheryl Crow, and promises to be a hit. Ringo’s start in life was rocky to say the least with numerous hospitalizations as a child, and less than optimum living conditions. Nonetheless, Ringo developed his enormous and unique drumming talent over the years, later branching out into acting and writing as well.

Ringo, a vegetarian who meditates daily, is well known for his slogan “peace and love.” He also contributes generously to the Lotus Foundation, which he developed with his wife, Barbara Bach, dedicated to promoting charitable projects that seek to advance social welfare in many areas from substance abuse, to cancer, to homelessness, to animals in need and more.
