Meet An “Amazing” Who Returns To His Roots

John Nettles, 77, could certainly retire on his prodigious list of acting credits--stage, film and TV.

John Nettles, at 77, could certainly retire on his prodigious list of acting credits--stage, film and TV. One of his best known roles worldwide was as “Tom Barnaby,” the lead detective on the BBC’s “Midsomer Murders,” which he portrayed to huge success in 81 episodes. Plus, John was appointed “Officer of the Order of the British Empire” (OBE), a very significant British honor, for his contribution to the dramatic arts.

That being said, John never stopped acting. He currently can be found narrating the show “Devon and Cornwall.” Which is very fitting, as John is originally from Cornwall.
