Pedestrian Killed On 101 Freeway In Agoura Hills

A SigAlert was issued at 2:44 a.m. shutting down a lane of the eastbound Ventura Freeway east of Kanan Road. It was cancelled at 5:35 a.m.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — A male pedestrian was struck and killed Monday on the Ventura (101) Freeway in Agoura Hills, authorities said. The first report was at 2:24 a.m. by a witness who told the California Highway Patrol a male pedestrian with dark clothing was standing in middle lanes of the eastbound Ventura Freeway at Kanan Road waving at traffic and that vehicles were swerving to avoid hitting him, said CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig.

It was then reported that a silver Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and unknown debris were blocking the No. 1 lane, the CHP said.

A SigAlert was issued at 2:44 a.m. shutting down the No. 1 lane of the eastbound Ventura Freeway just east of Kanan Road. The SigAlert was cancelled about 5:35 a.m.
