Van Dykes to Lead Reyes Adobe Days Parade

The son and grandson of Dick Van Dyke will serve as grand marshals Oct. 2.

The son and grandson of entertainer Dick Van Dyke will serve as grand marshals of the sixth annual Reyes Adobe Days parade, Mayor Pro Tem Harry Schwarz announced at a news conference Tuesday.

More than 15,000 people are expected to attend the 2010 Reyes Adobe Days, which will be held Oct. 1-3. Centered around the city's oldest home—the historic Reyes Adobe, the free festival celebrates California culture and features a parade, museum tour, art scene, food vendors and pony rides.

"It's really a celebration of our city and our area and particularly this house, which has been around a very long time," said Schwarz.

The Reyes Adobe Days Parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Oct. 2, with a new route beginning at Yerba Buena Elementary School.

"I'm very flattered to be part of this celebration," said Barry Van Dyke, an actor and 35-year resident of Agoura Hills who will lead the mile-long parade with his 24-year-old son Wes. "It is always nice to see Agoura get together and celebrate its history."
