Signups Underway for Conejo/Miller YMCA & Triunfo YMCA Winter Flag Football Leagues

Signups are being taken for two YMCA flag football leagues. The leagues are being organized by the Conejo Valley/Miller Family YMCAs and the Triunfo YMCA. The season begins for both leagues on Saturday, December 2. The Los Angeles Rams are the official YMCA Flag Football League partner.

Skill assessment dates for the Conejo/Miller Y league are Thursday and Friday, October 19 and 25 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 28 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Conejo Valley YMCA (4031 N. Moorpark Rd., Thousand Oaks).

Assessment dates for the Triunfo YMCA league are Wednesday and Thursday, October 18 and 26 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, October 21 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Chumash Park (5550 Medea Valle Drive, Agoura Hills) and on Sunday, October 22 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Medea Creek Middle School (upper field behind gym, 1002 Doubletree Rd, Oak Park).

The co-ed league is divided into five grade divisions: pre-k/kindergarten, first and second grades, third and fourth grades, fifth and sixth grades and sixth through eighth grades (open division). Players will learn to pass, run and create plays. In this non-contact league, players stop opponents by pulling off one of their flags. The semi-competitive, league develops athletic, sportsmanship and teamwork skills while kids have fun and make new friends. No prior playing experience is necessary. A Triunfo YMCA ninth through 12-grade division is also available for those whose teams are already formed.

League fee includes a uniform, pictures and award.

The Conejo Valley and Miller YMCAs serve Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park and Moorpark. The Triunfo YMCA serves Agoura Hills, Oak Park and Westlake Village.
