Southeast Ventura County YMCA Spring Basketball League Signups Begin February 15
Signups will begin Wednesday February 15 for the Southeast Ventura County YMCA spring basketball league.
Signups will begin Wednesday February 15 for the Southeast Ventura County YMCA spring basketball league. The season begins March 26 with games played on Sundays at Medea Creek Middle School (1002 Doubletree Rd, Oak Park).
The co-ed league is semi competitive and focuses on skill development and having fun. Each child plays while learning teamwork and basketball fundamentals. No prior playing experience is necessary.
The league is divided into five grade divisions: pre-k/kindergarten, first and second grades, third and fourth grades, fifth and sixth grades and sixth through eighth grades (open division). Signup and skill assessment dates are February 15 and Thursday February 23, 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for first through fourth graders and 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for five through eighth graders and again on Saturday February 25 from 10:00 a.m. to noon for first through eighth graders. Signups and assessments will be at Deerhill Park (6700 Doubletree Rd., Oak Park). Pre-k and kindergarten players can sign up on any of these dates and times (no assessment required).

The league fee is $110 (pre-k and kindergarten) and $160 for first through eighth graders. There is an additional $40 membership fee for YMCA nonmembers. League fees include a uniform and trophy.
