Picnic in the Park

A picnic is the quintessential activity for a three-day weekend in spring, and our city doesn't have just one, but five (minus Old Agoura) parks to choose from. Pack a lunch and plop your blanket, basket and tush down on the lush green lawns of Chumash, Forest Cove, Morrison, Reyes Adobe and Sumac, and then toss a ball around for old time's sake.

Catch a Flick

Cuddling up to popcorn in the dark is the best thing for a hot day. The weekend forecast calls for lower-80s, so hit up Agoura Hills' Regency Theater and get caught up on the latest movies. Want an action-packed adventure? See Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Dying for a girls' night out? Catch Sex and the City 2.

Take a Hike

Been dying to finally reach the American flag at the top of Ladyface Mountain? Well, this weekend's your chance. Get to the trailhead on Kanan Road early. It's two miles up and two miles down. But well worth the adventure. 

Go Green

There is no excuse not to check out our city's farmers market Sunday at the Agoura Hills City Mall on Kanan Road. Organic veggies, artisan cheeses and rustic breads, oh my. Shop around the rows of food stalls and then use the ingredients in a fresh new recipe. Now doesn't that sound good?

Just a Sip

If you are of age and up for a drive, Sip Malibu Cielo Wine Bar is tucked away in the canyon on Sierra Creek Road. The serene location paired with a well-priced flight--white ($10), red ($15), mixed ($12) and Sip's Woodstock ($15)--is a perfect getaway. The kicker: Sip is open on Memorial Day.
