Michael McCarty's photograph captures a sunset in Agoura Hills, taken midway up the hill behind Sumac Elementary School in January 2009. "I frequently go out my back fence onto that spot on the hill and watch the sunsets and listen to the neighborhood sounds—mostly the hawks from the oak trees and barking dogs and kids playing down below," McCarty says.
