Thousands Around Agoura Hills Lose Power
Massive outages are reported in Westlake Village, Newbury Park, Hidden Hills, and Malibu.
AGOURA HILLS, CA — Numerous power outages have been reported in Westlake Village, Hidden Hills, and Newbury Park. The strongest Santa Ana Winds of the season — 60-70 miles per hour — have resulted in a Red Flag Warning throughout Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

A wind advisory is in effect until Tuesday at 3 p.m., while a Red Flag Warning remains in effect until Tuesday at 6 p.m. "The combination of a strong offshore pressure gradient, strong upper levelwind support, and significant cold air advection is producing the strongest Santa Ana wind event we have seen so far this season, with the most dangerous fire weather conditions we have seen since October 2019," the National Weather Service reported.
No fires, or planned or spontaneous outages, have been reported in Agoura Hills as of Monday afternoon, but almost all its neighboring cities have reported significant outages.

In Westlake Village, 411 residents living near White Oak Elementary off Lindero Canyon Road were affected by outages due to equipment failures, according to Southern California Edison. As of 2:26 p.m. Monday, the outage is estimated to be fixed by 9 p.m. tonight.
In Newbury Park, a total of 726 customers were affected by outages, and SCE was not able to give a reason for the problem or a time when power will be restored.

In Hidden Hills, two outages on separate sides of Crummer Canyon Road caused 1,911 people to lose power. As of 2:44 p.m., SCE estimates that the area north of the 101 Freeway and east of Crummer Canyon Road will have power restored by 4:30 p.m. The reason for the Hidden Hills outages are unknown.
In Malibu, a total of 3,367 people lost power. A total of 985 customers around Corral Canyon, 2,332 customers in Point Dume, and 50 customers on Ocean View Drive off Latigo Canyon Road, found themselves without power as of 1:46 p.m. Monday, according to Southern California Edison. Traffic signals along Pacific Coast Highway at Corral, Zumirez, and Heathercliff roads were also reported as broken.
SCE was not able to comment on the cause of the outages in Point Dume or Corral Canyon, but it did list "equipment problems" as the reason for the Ocean View Drive outage. Similarly, it could not say when power would be restored to Point Dume or Corral Canyon, but estimated power would be restored Ocean View Drive in by 11:30 p.m. Monday.
Heavy winds caused a tree to fall down on northbound Kanan Road, just past Eagleton Street, at around noon Tuesday. Crews arrived to clean it up.
Northbound Kanan past Eagleton is obstructed due to a fallen private property palm tree. A crew is on-site to remove the debris.
