Power Restored To Thousands In Westlake Village
A massive outage hit Westlake Village Tuesday morning due to "equipment failure."

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA —3341 Southern California Edison customers lost power Tuesday morning in an outage the company attributes to "equipment failure."
The outage began at 6:28 a.m., and power was restored by 9:24 a.m., according to SCE spokesperson Taelor Bakewell.
The outage affected the mainly commercial area around Townsgate Road and Hampshire Road, Bakewell said.

A series of smaller outages are affecting nearby Camarillo, Oxnard, and Calabasas. As of Tuesday at 1 p.m., 18 customers are without power in Oxnard, just past Point Mugu, due to a pole upgrade.
Earlier this year, Westlake Village and surrounding cities in Ventura County were the subject of a number of planned Public Safety Power Shutoffs, which shut off power to homes during critical fire weather for sometimes days at a time.
