Virgenes Fire Contained In Calabasas
Forward progress has been stopped on a small brush fire that broke out in Calabasas Thursday afternoon.
CALABASAS, CA — Forward progress has been stopped on a five-acre brush fire that burned near Las Virgenes Road and the southbound 101 Freeway in Calabasas has been contained, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The Virgenes Fire was reported at 1:47 p.m. Thursday, according to LA County Fire spokesperson Marvin Lim. As of 3:18 p.m., it has spread to five acres and is 20 percent contained, but no structures are threatened, and no injuries have been reported, according to LA County Fire. The fire is running in light to medium fuel.
Units from the Los Angeles and Ventura County Fire Departments are on scene. Ventura County Fire tweeted that it has dispatched full 1st alarm brush response to the fire. Fire aircraft units are on scene.

A Sigalert has been issued, and the offramp to the 101 South Las Virgenes Exit 32 is still blocked. Heavy delays are reported.
