Tragedy and Trivia

Two Santa Paula men die and a third is critically injured Friday after a vehicle strikes a big rig stopped on the shoulder.

Also, Latice Sutton, the mother of Mitrice Richardson, sued the LA County Sheriff's Department for negligence and wrongful death in relation to the disappearance of her 24-year-old daughter last year.

MONDAY

We gave you the "Lowdown" on Agoura Hills Dance, just in time for their annual concert.

WEDNESDAY

We profiled Agoura High's auto mechanic duo, Dylan Landy and Evan Weller. The Motherload covered the pros and cons of kids and fireworks. And Chargers' receivers Corey Da Silva and Kevin Beams proved to be one of the most productive tandems in the tough Marmonte League.

On Tuesday, the mother of missing Mitrice Richardson, who disappeared on Sept. 17, 2009 after being released from the custody of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station, sued the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for negligence and wrongful death.

THURSDAY

The day started with Patch's coverage of a new academic tracking system called Datawise, which will be implemented within Las Virgenes Unified and ready to go this fall.

Agoura Adventures' Andrew Cohen hiked Peter Strauss Ranch trails, and Charlene Ross launched our new Summer Camp Spotlight series, featuring Tiny Tot Club at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center.

FRIDAY

The day began with Patch's breaking news coverage of the double fatal car accident east of Reyes Adobe Road on Highway 101, and was updated throughout the course of the day.

To prepare for the impending Fourth of July, the Summer Family Fun Guide this week offered an Agoura Hills itinerary for Independence Day.

New contributors Meg Boberg and Mira Reverente offered holiday pre-coverage, enlightening residents on brushfire awareness and providing perspective from local business this Fourth of July.

SATURDAY

We kicked things off with local Allyson Ranallo's recollections of Agoura Hills July fourths past, followed by Patch's picks for Independence Day themed cocktails offered around town over the weekend.

With the Fourth just around the corner, Patch covered police regulations to watch out for on Sunday. 

This week's Fit Agoura featured the dance-infused workout that is changing the way Agoura Hills gym goers are viewing exercise—Zumba Fitness.
