Westbound 101 Closed At Chesebro For Police Investigation

All westbound lanes of Highway 101 at Chesebro Road are currently closed for further investigation into Sunday's motorcycle accident.

As of 1 p.m. today, all westbound lanes of Highway 101 at Chesebro Road were shut down for further investigation into Sunday's traffic accident involving two motorcycles.

Traffic is currently moving at approximately 30 miles per hour, beginning at Las Virgenes Road, according to SigAlert.

All southbound lanes of Highway 101 in Agoura Hills were closed Sunday at around 3 p.m. as a result of the two-vehicle collision.

"One of the riders sustained major injuries," said California Highway Patrol Officer Kystal Carter." "The second rider fled the scene under suspicious circumstances."

An ambulance and additional emergency vehicles were sent to the location, just west of Chesebro Road.

According to initial reports from the scene, the passenger suffered injuries after falling off a motorcycle driven by a second person. The injured passenger was taken to Los Robles Hospital at around 10 p.m. The victim's condition and other details were unavailable.

Investigating officers believe that it was criminal activity and the Los Angeles County Police are currently investigating the incident. "They are gathering information and evidence," Officer Karter said, "doing their measurements and getting photographs." 

Traffic remains slow westbound toward Chesebro Road.
