Will You Be Spooked At Scare-amount Ranch?
Make fake blood, go on haunted hikes, and watch an old scary movie at the free, family-friendly event.

AGOURA HILLS, CA – Paramount Ranch has set the scene for various monster, paranormal, and other supernatural films and shows, from The Forbidden Trail (1932) to Van Helsing (2004), and episodes of the X-Files and HBO’s Westworld. To keep with that theme, the National Park Service will turn Paramount Ranch into Scare-amount Ranch on October 27 from 6 to 10 p.m.
The family-friendly Halloween event will combine elements of film history and nature, according to the Santa Monica Mountains press release. Kids activities will include making fake movie blood and nocturnal animal-themed crafts. Groups can choose from two self-guided hikes into the backlot woods, one which will family-friendly, the other for those looking for a little scare.
Other activities will include a screening of the 1966 movie Munster, Go Home, which was shot at Paramount Ranch, selfies in the jailhouse, a spider zoo and bug trap, and ranger stations throughout the ranch grounds.
