Wind Advisory In Effect In Agoura Hills Until Wednesday

Batten down the hatches: howling winds could climb as high as 45 miles per hour Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — Agoura Hills is under a Wind Advisory from Tuesday at 8 p.m. until Wednesday at noon, along with much of West Los Angeles, Ventura County, the San Fernando Valley, and the Inland Empire.

Wind speeds may climb as high as 45 mph in Agoura Hills Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service. Wind speeds are currently around 15 mph in Agoura Hills, and will increase as the day progresses, reaching 30 to 35 mph by the evening.

Wednesday morning will see winds of 25 to 45 mph, before slowing down to 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Wednesday night is expected to be calm, with winds at only 5 mph.

Wind speeds will be even higher in the mountains: northeast winds of 15 to 30 mph are expected Tuesday night in the Santa Monica Mountains and canyons, and may climb as high as 40 mph. Gusts of up to 55 mph are expected in the Santa Clarita foothills and 60 mph above Porter Ranch and Chatsworth.

High winds may result in downed trees, downed power lines, and blackouts. Drivers are advised to go slowly, especially in the mountains.
