AEC Living Honored with STRONG Partner Award

Girls Inc. of the Island City Honors AEC Living and CEO Lauren Zimmerman Cook at Annual Community Recognition Awards Dinner

On July 9, 2018, AEC Living CEO Lauren Zimmerman Cook accepted her STRONG Partner award and COO Stephen Zimmerman accepted a STRONG Partner award on behalf of AEC Living from Girls Incorporated of the Island City in Alameda. Girls Inc. held its Annual Community Recognition and Awards Event earlier this week to honor select board members, community volunteers and donors who have contributed and supported the organization all year. Zimmerman Cook sits on the board and AEC has an active role as a community partner of the organization.

"We, and our CEO Lauren Zimmerman Cook, are delighted to both be recipients of STRONG Partner Awards. This is the 3rd time we have been honored by Girls Inc. of the Island City. We are proud to work with this organization and their passionate team," said Stephen Zimmerman, COO of AEC Living.

Since its founding in 1964, Girls Incorporated of the Island City has provided youth development services geared specifically for girls in Alameda. As the Alameda affiliate of the national nonprofit organization Girls Inc., the organization offers the most current research-based programs to the over 500 girls ages 6-18 that it serves. The curricula, delivered by trained mentoring professionals in a positive all-girl environment, equip girls to achieve academically; lead healthy and physically active lives; manage money; navigate media messages; and, discover an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math.
