Alameda Armed Robbery: Woman Unloading Car When Approached

Alameda Police say one robber shot at the woman's family member who came to her assistance.

ALAMEDA, CA — Alameda police are asking the public to help as they try to identify two suspects in an armed robbery and shooting Tuesday night.

Officers responded about 6:20 p.m. to the robbery report in the 1800 block of Stanton Street, where a woman had been unloading items from her vehicle when she was confronted by an armed man.

The woman screamed and a family member approached the intruders, with one firing his weapon at the man. The two attackers then fled and were gone when officers arrived.

The man was not injured.

The case is being investigated by the Alameda police Violent Crimes Unit, which is looking for a silver sedan seen speeding away from the 1600 to 1800 blocks of Stanton Street.
