Alameda Bicyclist Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries
The bicyclist and a vehicle collided Tuesday night.
ALAMEDA, CA — The cause of a collision that left a bicycle rider with life-threatening injuries Tuesday night is under investigation, Alameda police said.
The injury collision involving the rider and a motorist was reported at 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Broadway and Tilden Way.
The bicycle rider was hospitalized with "major, life-threatening injuries," police said.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, which police said is in its early stages.
Alameda "holds post-collision site visits for all major and fatal collisions," police said, with personnel from the police, Public Works and Transportation Planning departments conducting a review of the collision site and details from the investigation in coming weeks "to discuss any potential safety interventions that may present themselves."
