Alameda Fire Crews Quell Encampment, Car Fire Under I-880
Bay Area fire agencies responded to a report of a fire early Sunday beneath the Interstate 880 in Oakland that involved an explosion.
ALAMEDA, CA — Firefighters responded to a report of a fire early Sunday beneath the Interstate 880 in Oakland that was possibly ignited by an explosion, according to the Alameda County Fire Department.
Alameda fire crews and the Oakland Fire Department responded at 3:50 a.m. to the area, where they found two cars on fire and an encampment. Fires were knocked down quickly and no injuries were reported.
