Alameda Fire's Water Rescue Boats: Small in Size, Significant in Saving Lives
Alameda Fire Capt. Domenick Weaver shares the latest on the department's rescue boats and how they are one of the most important rescue tools during water emergencies.
With the help of two water rescue boats they obtained in 2011, the Alameda Fire Department has responded to dozens of incidences in Alameda's shorelines and estuaries.
Alameda Fire Capt. Domenick Weaver highlights just how important they are in responding to these water emergencies.
Most recently, they were used to assist the U.S. Coast Guard in a search for a reported boat that was taking in water along the Oakland/Alameda Estuary.Â
