Alameda Man Arrested After Police Chase in Emeryville — Patrol Car Rammed
The man, suspected of burglarizing an Emeryville business, was finally cornered on the roof of an elementary school.

An Alameda man was arrested early this morning (Wednesday) after a police pursuit — by car and on foot — that left the man trapped atop the roof of an Emeryville elementary school, according to the Oakland Tribune.
Emeryville police said Michael Shea, 40, is suspected of burglarizing an Emeryville real estate office and stealing costume jewelry before leading police on the chase, the Tribune says.
An Emeryville Police Department spokesperson told the Tribune that Shea rammed a patrol vehicle during the pursuit.
Shea eventually surrendered and climbed down from the roof of Anna Yates Elementary School on an Emeryville Fire Department ladder about 6:30 a.m., the Tribune reports.
