Alameda Point Conveyance Ceremony Today
On Monday, June 24 at 2 p.m., the City will hold a Phase 1 Conveyance Ceremony.
The United States Navy has transferred the deeds to land at the former Naval Air Station, to the City of Alameda.
“This is a momentous occasion for the City of Alameda,” said Mayor Marie Gilmore. “Twenty years after the federal government announced the closure of this Naval Air Station, we are now the proud owner of over 1,300 acres of property in one of the most coveted locations in the Bay Area.”
On Monday, June 24 at 2 p.m., the City will hold a Phase 1 Conveyance Ceremony, with the following special guests:

- Congresswoman Barbara Lee
- Assistant Secretary of the Navy Roger Natsuhara
- Alameda Mayor Marie Gilmore
- City Manager John Russo
“It is truly a moment to celebrate, yet we wouldn’t be here without the hard work of many, many people and agencies that over the years rolled up their sleeves to help us get here,” Gilmore said. “So, on behalf of the residents of Alameda, I declare Monday to be a ‘Day of Gratitude’.”
The event will be at Alameda Point at the end of Main Street at Navy Way. A map is attached.
