Alameda Police Report In-Custody Death
The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.
ALAMEDA, CA — One person died Monday in an incident described by Alameda Police as an in-custody death.
Officers were called to the 800 block of Oak Street at around 10:45 a.m. Officers tried to detain a man, but a physical altercation took place. "At that time, the man had a medical emergency," police said in a press release Monday night. "Officers immediately began lifesaving measures and requested the Alameda Fire Department to the scene."
The man was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

The name of the person who died has not been released.
The Alameda County Sheriff's Office and the District Attorney's Office are investigating the case.
