Alameda Police Investigate Possible Multiple Shooter Incident

Police are investigating a shots fired report from Saturday in Alameda that had no known victims.

ALAMEDA, CA — Alameda police are investigating a shooting Saturday night but did not find any victims related to the gunfire. Officers responded around 8 p.m. to reports of possible gunshots in the area of the 700 block of West Essex Drive.

Witnesses reported seeing a silver mid-sized car and a dark blue or black vehicle fleeing after the shots were fired. Officers found several spent casings but no victims, according to police.

Investigators believe there were multiple shooters. The two vehicles were last seen heading east on West Essex Drive and no arrests have been made in the case.

Anyone with information about the shooting, or possible surveillance footage between 7:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of West Essex Drive between Pearl Harbor Road and Pan Am Way, is encouraged to call the Alameda police Violent Crimes Unit at (510) 337-8538.
