Alameda's Mama Papa Lithuania Closing
The Bay Area's only Lithuanian restaurant is closing, and the owner is moving back to Lithuania.
ALAMEDA, CA — Vaidas Sukys has an unusual reason for closing Mama Papa Lithuania in Alameda — he's going home to Lithuania to run for a seat in parliament.
The election is in October which doesn't leave Sukys much time for campaigning.
The restaurant will close on July 31, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. So there's time to get one last order of potato dumplings and cabbage rolls.
