Fatal Crash Cleared From Bay Bridge
One person died and four people were sent to the hospital after a box truck and transit bus collided.

BAY AREA — One person is dead and four others were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries after a crash on the Bay Bridge near Treasure Island Wednesday morning, the CHP reports. A five hour sig-alert, from about 4:30 to 9:30, created a monumental traffic jam.
The crash involved a box truck and a Golden Gate Transit bus, with the truck ending up on its side. Three people were in the truck. One died and the other two suffered major injuries.
Two passengers aboard the bus were alsosent to the hospital.

CHP Officer Bert Diaz said that the truck rear-ended the bus as it was coming to a stop.
Some 40 gallons of diesel fuel spilled and had to be cleaned.
