Body Recovered From Water Off Alameda ID'd
The Alameda County Coroner's Bureau has not determined a cause of death.
ALAMEDA, CA — A man whose body was recovered from the water off Bay Farm on Saturday has been identified as 39-year-old Tariku Ayalew of Oakland, the Alameda County Coroner's Bureau told Patch on Thursday. A cause of death has not been determined.
Jet skiers found the body along the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline near Doolittle Drive at about 11:50 a.m. Saturday, according to Oakland Fire Department Battalion Chief Heather Mozdean.
When fire crews arrived, they recovered Ayalew from the water. The exact location is Airport Channel in San Leandro Bay.

In addition to Ayalew's death, a man was rescued from the estuary off Alameda Island, near the Park Street Bridge, Monday evening. And last week, a person was rescued from the water off Sea View Parkway, on the San Francisco Bay side of Bay Farm Island.
