Update: Bomb Squad Detonated Suspicious Device Found at Crown Beach
There were no injuries reported and the case is being further investigated by the East Bay Regional Park District Police Department.

In an email to parents Wednesday morning, Alameda's Recreation and Park Department said they were notified of a bomb scare around the Crab Cove Visitor's Center.
Â
"ALL campers are safe, and camp is continuing in front of the bath house, near Robert Crown drop-off/pick-up point," they said in their latest email at 11:49 a.m.
The suspicious device was found next to a tree at Crown Memorial Beach in Alameda this morning, police said.
East Bay Regional Park District police were alerted of a suspicious device near the "Glory of the Seas" building at the end of McKay Avenue at 9:50 a.m.
Parks police described the object as a "capped, cylindrical tube with a fuse-like object attached."
A bomb squad from the Alameda County Sheriff's Office examined the device, determined it was possibly explosive and detonated it without further incident, Alameda police said.
No injuries were reported. Personnel from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security also responded to the scene.
Alameda's Recreation and Park Department said it will continue with its Campfire Program later this evening at Robert Crown Beach.
Anyone with information about the object is asked to call East Bay Regional Parks Police at (510) 881-1833.
