China Villa to Open at Former Harbor View Restaurant

Owners of the new restaurant said they hope to open sometime in January 2013.

The building where Harbor View Restaurant sat since 1986 at Harbor Bay Landing Shopping Center will soon reopen as China Villa.

Alameda Residents Grace and Steven Wu took over in November and are currently remodeling and renovating the restaurant. If all goes accordingly, they hope to open in January 2013.

The couple currently owns but plan to only run the Alameda eatery once it opens. They have been in the restaurant business for more than a decade.

Grace told Alameda Patch on Monday that the menu will continue to offer the same Mandarin and Szechwan dishes as Harbor View but will also include additional items. Grace, who is Cantonese, hopes to include additional Chinese-style cuisine and a strictly-vegetarian menu.

Although they will bring over most of their employees who have worked for them these past 10 years at their San Anselmo restuarant, Grace said they may also look into hiring locally.
