CHP Rescues Stranded Boat in Bay (Photo)
A cargo ship was headed toward the boat's position when it was pulled to safety.

The California Highway Patrol rescued a stranded boater drifting in the water near the Port of Oakland Wednesday afternoon.
The boat was drifting towards rocks on the shoreline at 1:54 p.m. when the CHP's marine patrol arrived on scene.
A cargo ship was also headed toward the boat's position at that time.

CHP officers offered up a tow-line to the stranded boater, then pulled it to safety, officers said.
