From a City of Alameda press release:
The City of Alameda Community Development Department invites you to the grand opening of the newly remodeled Permit Center on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 2 to 5:00 p.m. on the ground floor of City Hall.
The Alameda Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Mayor Marie Gilmore’s ribbon cutting ceremony at 2:30 p.m.
“I am pleased that the Permit Center has been redesigned to be more accommodating for Alameda’s residents, businesses, contractors, and architects,” said Mayor Gilmore.
It features a new, larger counter, a more comfortable and welcoming waiting area, public wi-fi, and a dedicated workstation for self-help permit histories and online permits.
Along with an improved physical space, the reopening of the Permit Center will coincide with new customer service initiatives, improved informational handouts, and new hours.
Beginning Nov. 12, the Permit Center will be open for walk-in business Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm.
On Mondays and Wednesdays, from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, the Planning and Building staff will be taking appointments for expedited permit processing
The Permit Center is located in room 190 at Alameda City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Ave.
