Coast Guard Rescues 3 From Sailboat in San Francisco Bay
The crew of a tug boat spotted the sailboat, which had run aground.

BAY AREA, CA - Three people were rescued from a sailboat that ran aground and began taking on water Sunday near Oakland's Middle Harbor, according to the United States Coast Guard.
The 20-foot vessel was reported to the Coast Guard by crewmembers of the Pacific Star, a tugboat, around 5 p.m.
A 45-foot response boat from Station San Francisco responded to the scene and rescued the boaters, who were not injured. "Water temperatures in the bay this time of year can be extremely dangerous and had the boaters entered the water, the result could have been dire," Cmdr. Matt Thompson said in a statement.
