Meeting Tonight on Work Hours for Beach Sand Replacement

What's ahead in Alameda this week:

Today, there's a community meeting at 7 p.m. in the City Hall council chambers, 2263 Santa Clara Ave., to gauge how the public feels about extended construction hours for the Crown Beach sand replacement project. The East Bay Regional Park District is asking permission to work evenings and weekends to meet a Nov. 30 deadline. On Tuesday, Nov. 5, the Alameda City Council meets at 7 p.m. in the City Hall council chambers. The agenda includes consideration of an assisted living facility at Mariner Square and a presentation on exclusive negotiation agreements for Alameda Point development projects.

The Historical Advisory Board meets Thursday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

The Alameda Unified School District Board of Education meets Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the Alameda High School cafeteria (corner of Walnut and Central).
